Room Noises

hello, again

Everything will be ok.

Everything will work out , no matter where that leaves your heart

- it always leaves it with God.

Don't be afraid - about anything.

Pray.

Concentrate on God and Him alone.

Listen.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus"  --Phil. 4:6-7

Perfect.

You've seen the depths of my heart,

And you love me the same.

You are amazing,

                                                                                                                                        GOD.

Battlefield of the Mind Devotional: 100 Insights That Will Change the Way You Think (Meyer, Joyce)

Thanks Joyce Meyer....

"I want to focus on God's grace and give thanks for all the good things in my life.  I don't want to focus on what I don't have.

An old friend used to quote, 'As you wander on through life, brother, whatever be your goal, keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the hole.' Too many people focus on what's not there and what's not right.

All of this is to sat that our thoughts largely determine our destiny.  Our thoughts also determine our happiness (Proverbs 23:7-For as he thinks in his heart, so is he).  Thoughts are powerful.  They aren't just words that flow through our minds.  So it is very important for us to decide what we will allow to rest inside our minds.

We must not forget that the mind is a battlefield.  We must always remember that our adversary will use it in any way he possibly can to trap us.

We can't have a positive life and a negative mind.  Our thoughts--our focus--is what determines where we end up.

Jesus, our friend and Savior, wants our minds to be filled with positive, beautiful, and healthy thoughts.  The more we focus on those things, the more rapidly we defeat Satan's attacks."

That was cool, Mrs. Meyer, thanks for the advice :)

Fish eggs

No College and Career retreat for Bre :(  Last year was a blast, though, and I think I have a xanga entry about it...something to do with dead baby jokes.

I do get to go to Special Olympics Bowling tomorrow, however, and i'm kinda looking forward to being a "hugger."

Blah.         Blah.           Blah.

I got my iMac back to my dorm room this afternoon.  I'm planning a pretty amaz-za-zing poster that deals with Hank, various paperdoll Halloween outfits, and a contest for Zion Zone (our children's ministry).  I'm pretty excited about that one.

Ok....enough for now...man this is the lamest post ever....................................yep.....still lame

Ode to an Open Mic Night

I wrote this at the Cup tonight...still in it's rough stages, but I thought it fit the mood of the evening...haha

Tie Dye

Broken guitars

Broken strings

Broken hearts

Broken dreams

Pretend Dylans pour out their hearts to an open, wanting mic

-audience optional.

As they see their own personal realities behind tightly shut eyelids,

They unsheathe their souls on strings and with weathered, raw, wilting vocals.

They envision in slow motion to trap the surreal moments of the spot light-

Back 30 years

Back to hopeful hearts.

A handful of drifting dreamers resound with popcorns of applause-

One more turn to capture a possible past.

No autographs,

No entourage,

They've achieved greatness,

If only in their own minds.
